Staunton Steam Laundry has been family owned and operated by the Beam family since 1912. Today, in a 50,000 square foot facility, we use state-of-art computerized systems to launder large volumes of table and bed linens, towels, mats, and more.

Our trucks, brightly painted with the Staunton Steam Laundry logo, travel weekly throughout Virginia and into Maryland to provide more than 250 customers with rental and cleaning of an array of textile products.

Staunton Steam Laundry assures excellent service through personalized attention to detail. “We may have 50 towels and 10 aprons, or 500 sheets for a customer.” says one salesman, a thirty-three year employee. “Whatever the size, each order gets the same attention. We want our customers to be pleased with what they receive. People here take an interest in that. Our customers are loyal to us because we give them excellent value.”

The majestic Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking Staunton remind us every day of the importance of respecting and preserving precious natural resources. Within the plant, we take all energy-saving measures possible, including the reclamation of heat, both from water leaving the plant and from boiler exhaust, to heat incoming water. We recycle all cardboard that comes into the plant and sell worn textiles to re-processors. The laundry chemicals we use are biodegradable, and lint is screened from our wastewater. We also work hard to avoid unnecessary waste and duplication. If a shirt is missing a button, we will sew another on. If a smock seam tears on the job, we will stitch it up again. Call us old-fashioned. We just think it is the right thing to do for our customers – and for the environment.

Every time a product is reused rather than thrown away, the environment benefits. Business too can benefit because using non-disposables means cutting down on the cost of supplies and waste management. Cloth towels get the job done, day in, day out, and they are picked up on a regular basis so you do not have to deal with time-consuming clean up. With rented textiles, you will notice a “material” difference in your operations and on your bottom line.
